Areas of Practice and Key Highlights
- Commercial transactions including but not limited to advisory work on contractual obligations entered into by clients on assorted dealings entered into by clients. Successfully advised on and implemented a joint venture between a Danish and Kenyan company on the setting up of a large-scale agricultural plantation in Taita-Taveta County.
- Dispute resolution including but not limited to appearing on behalf of clients across all courts of competent jurisdiction within the Republic of Kenya as well as administrative tribunals and arbitral panels. Successfully represented a Kenyan bank in an action for money secured under a charge to the tune of Kes. 162,000,000.00.
- Intellectual Property including but not limited to issuing advisory opinions on intellectual property rights in Kenya, undertaking registration of trademarks and patents in Kenya, and matters incidental thereto such as market observation on behalf of clients, prosecuting opposition proceedings and trademark infringement actions.
